New base classes need to fill a niche that can't be satisfied by new class options. btw, cavalier was described as a class focused more being bossy and not overly focused on mounted combat.
Lisa Stevens: I will say this about the new base classes—when Jason first told me their names, I was like, "ummm, cool, I guess, but...ummm...so what?" Then he went into more detail about what they were envisioning and why and frankly I was blown away! The more Jason talked, the more excited I got. These aren't the cavalier, summoner, alchemist and oracle that you have seen in the past. They are a very new reinvisioning and I am frankly excited to playtest them and give them a run through!
