I always check the Bad Stuff before playing anything. I'm not going to waste my cards on "Lose 1 Level" penalties for someone at Level 1. Unless I want to make a point (that Munchkin isn't fair).

Re: Regelfragen The Thief's ability doesn't mean that he joins the combat. The Backstabbing ability means that you may discard one card to give a player in combat a -2 penalty.
